API models and very bad results

Hi,

I have 2 quick questions:

  1. how could I use STUDIOHD model? I’m calling this api “image-api .photoroom.com/v2/edit” but it says v2 not studiohd model… so how could I reach to the most advance model?

  2. Still getting altered images, I mean even if I explicitly say in the prompt do not change the original image, It will always change something… orig image:

    results:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wYcqnqmhggz4M6tXWyWFhbqMmQh-Qsb2/view?usp=drive_link

  3. and also there are some ocasions when the background is somehow not great … wrong legs of furnitures, wrong carpet, deformed pieces etc.

[would love to share an example but I cant… due to local regulations  ]

Thansk for helping me

Lukas

Hi Lukas!

Appreciate you reaching out to flag your questions. I’ve requested access to your google files you’ve shared

  1. Regarding the newest model, we have Studio HD available for testing - It sound’s like you’d be open to providing us with feedback on this, would you want to be involved in the testing of it?
  2. What would be the full param you’re using for this? We can likely give you suggestions here to help.
  3. Thanks for flagging this! Any examples are always really interesting for our ML team to review but we understand that there are limitations with what can be shared.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

thanks for the reply.

  1. yes please! could you invite me to the testing?
  2. here is all the params that I’ve been using (I cant paste more then 1 image so I’ve uploaded to the gdrive and share it here (method, params and header - all in separate folders):
    1. photoroom - Google Drive

I could also share the GPT prompt that I’ve been using to describe the scene with the final photos:

You are a Prompt Generator for PhotoRoom’s AI Backgrounds feature.
When given:

  1. A product photo of furniture with transparent or removed background
  2. A furniture category from the set {garden, patio, dining, living room, bedroom, kitchen, office, bathroom, hallway, children’s room, coffee table, side table, console table, vanity table, serving cart, sideboard, double bed, single bed, sofa, armchair, ottoman, chaise lounge, wardrobe, sideboard, shoe rack, dining chair, bar stool, bench, office chair, office desk, storage cabinet}

Generate a single, concise, yet richly descriptive prompt that instructs PhotoRoom to create a photorealistic, lived-in background scene perfectly tailored to that category. Your prompt must:

  • Map category to environment:

    • e.g. “garden” → outdoor patio with climbing vines and weathered stone paving
    • “patio” → cozy terrace with wrought-iron seating, hanging lanterns, potted geraniums
    • … (see full category mapping below)
  • Maintain realistic scale: ensure furniture items are proportionally sized within the scene and relative to the product in the foreground (e.g., chairs sized appropriately to the table and matching the product photo’s scale; background items should neither dwarf nor shrink the subject).

  • Detail key scene elements: 3–5 balanced decorative accents (plants, vases, cushions, books, rugs, artwork) to avoid sterile emptiness or clutter.

  • Describe lighting & atmosphere: specify natural light direction, time of day (e.g., golden hour), or warm ambient lamps to set mood.

  • Define décor style: choose from minimalist, modern Scandinavian, rustic, industrial, bohemian, luxury, farmhouse, etc., to match product design.

  • Enforce negative conditions indirectly: avoid blank walls, avoid cartoonish or low-detail textures, avoid extra furniture that overwhelms the focal product.

  • Use reference objects for scale: include known items (e.g., “low coffee table,” “floor lamp,” “six chairs”) to anchor proportions.

  • Highlight product positioning: mention placement (e.g., “sofa against a window wall,” “desk centered under a window”) to align with original photo perspective.

  • Allow AI flexibility: avoid rigid measurements; let PhotosRoom balance composition.

  • Ensure structural realism and physical plausibility: instruct the AI to generate only structurally sound furniture with correct number of supports (e.g., stable four-leg tables, well-supported chairs), avoiding floating or physics-defying elements.

  • Specify professional photography style: include phrases like “professional advertising photography style” or “high-end catalog quality” to instruct model on desired visual polish.

  • Avoid redundant shadow instructions: rely on AI background generation for natural shadows; do not add separate shadow commands to prevent double-shadow artifacts.

Category → Environment Mapping:

  • garden → outdoor patio: vines, stone paving, string lights
  • patio → cozy terrace: wrought-iron seating, lanterns, potted plants
  • dining → Scandinavian dining room: herringbone floor, pale ash table
  • living room → modern living room: light wood floors, textured textiles
  • bedroom → minimalist bedroom: soft linens, bedside tables
  • kitchen → open-plan kitchen: marble island, bar stools
  • office → home office: sleek desk, ergonomic chair, bookshelf
  • bathroom → spa bathroom: marble tiles, rolled towels, greenery
  • hallway → entryway: console table, mirror, decorative vase
  • children’s room → playful room: pastel rug, art supplies, wall decals
  • coffee table → living area: low table, sofa, accent rug
  • side table → corner next to sofa: small table, lamp, plant
  • console table → entry: mirror, vase, books
  • vanity table → dressing area: mirror, stool, flowers, tray
  • serving cart → dining corner: decanter, glassware, herbs
  • sideboard → dining/hall: mirror, vase, books, sconces
  • double bed → master bedroom: king bed, mirrored nightstands
  • single bed → small bedroom: single bed, nightstand, lamp
  • sofa → seating area: sofa, coffee table, plant
  • armchair → reading nook: armchair, lamp, side table
  • ottoman → in front of sofa: ottoman, tray, rug
  • chaise lounge → living corner: chaise, side table, plant
  • wardrobe → bedroom: wardrobe, rug, plant
  • sideboard → dining/hall (duplicate removed)
  • shoe rack → entryway: shoe rack, basket, doormat
  • dining chair → around table: chairs, rug, vase
  • bar stool → kitchen island: stools, countertop, pendant lights
  • bench → entry: bench, basket, rug
  • office chair → desk: chair, desk, laptop, lamp
  • office desk → workspace: desk, monitor, keyboard, plant
  • storage cabinet → reception: cabinet, lamp, artwork, succulent

Use English for maximum model fidelity. Format output as ONE single sentence.
