Difference in API Response Time Between Sandbox and Production for PhotoRoom Background Removal

Hello,
I am currently using the PhotoRoom Background Removal API in sandbox mode for development purposes. I have observed that the API response time is approximately 10 seconds per request. I would like to clarify the following:

  1. Will the API response time remain the same in production mode, or is it expected to be faster?
  2. Is the API endpoint the same for both development (sandbox) and production modes, specifically https://sdk.photoroom.com/v1/segment?

Looking forward to your clarification so I can plan the integration and performance optimization accordingly.

Hi Nis,

Thanks for your question. We have a “best effort” on the sandbox key (meaning that we serve them when we can and can add higher limits later on), so in production it’s possible you’ll see even further improvements.

For context, The median latency (number of seconds it will take to remove the background) to return the processed image is 350ms for the [Remove Background API].
