The API page on the main website indicates that the ‘virtual model’ tool is available via API. However it’s not listed in the docs page. Is this an opt-in feature, if so how can I get access to the virtual model functionality via API. I have a use case that I want/need to use virtual model combined with templates, ideally within a single call (credit) but two would be fine too.
Thanks,
Andrew Glover
Hi @ThreadCycle ,
Thanks for flagging this with us. The feature is currently on the WebApp only, but if you could share your use case (context, volumes, etc), I can send this over to our team for future product consideration.
Appreciate the support!
Best,
The use case is that I run an online thrift store that publishes to multiple platforms (Poshmark, eBay, DePop, and our own website). I have a custom-built inventory management system that we use to upload photos of each item. Once qued, the primary photo runs through the Photoroom API for background removal, positioning, and ai shadow to create a featured image.
Flat lays are great for specifics, but don’t show fit well, so I want to generate a second photo at the same time that uses an AI Virtual Model to show potential fit, combined with a template that shows a disclaimer. The template part is already available via the API, but I want to be able to generate the virtual model.
Current volume is 40 images per day, but I’m hoping to add an employee in a few months who will bring us up to 120 products / images per day. That’s too much to do manually through the app, so we would need this via API.
